Glossary term

Bioregulator

A very short peptide (often two to four amino acids) proposed to influence how genes are expressed in a specific tissue.

Why it matters

A whole class of peptides sold as "bioregulators" rests largely on small, single-group studies. Knowing the term helps you read those claims with appropriate caution.

Peptide bioregulators are mostly associated with the work of one research group, and independent replication is limited. For that reason most bioregulator profiles on this site carry a preliminary evidence tier.
